Buttery Baked Peaches

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Peel, halve and seed peaches.
  • In 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, heat sugar, lemon juice, butter or margarine and water to boiling; simmer 5 minutes.
  • Place peaches in 3-quart casserole; add syrup. Cover and bake 30 minutes or until peaches are tender.
  • Place a little mint jelly in center of each half, if you like. Serve, drained, as a garnish for meat dishes or warm as a dessert.
